NTA NEET UG Exam Online Application Registration Form 2019: NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test which is basically a national level test or exam conducted by CBSE (Central Board for Secondary Education) for admission in MBBS and BDS courses in various government and private medical/dental colleges across India except AIIMS and JIMPER Puducherry as these institutions are established through an Act of Parliament. Apart from these two institutions (AIIMS and JIPMER) all the medical/dental colleges run with the approval of MCI/DCI (Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India) under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

NEET came into force in the year 2016 when center govt decided to replace various exams which were conducted for admission in MBBS and BDS courses across the country so that medical aspirants can get a single platform to enter into the medical field.

Before 2016 there were many medical entrance exams like AIPMT, UPMT etc which were conducted under state and central level but there was corruption and lack of transparency, therefore, centre decided to replace all these exams and create a single platform in the form of NEET for all the medical aspirants.

NEET 2019 Online Application Notification

As per the news from various sources, NTA is likely to conduct the NEET exam in May 2019. However, NTA has not made any official notification but it is believed that notification will be out most probably in the last week of December or it can be in the first week of January. From January students can fill online application forms.

Presently, NEET exam is conducted by CBSE every year but recently Union Cabinet has given an approval for the creation of an autonomous body/organization to conduct various Entrance exams for higher education like NEET and JEE Mains. This organization will be named as NTA (National Testing Agency) which will basically takeover CBSE as it has burden of conducting various exams presently.

This will help CBSE to focus on its core areas and to improve the quality of education. We are discussing this news here because it beneficial for the NEET aspirants because it is said that after the establishment of NTA this exam (NEET) might be conducted twice a year to give NEET aspirants a golden opportunity to improve their performance. Union Cabinet has already approved this proposal of formation of NTA but the functioning is expected to start in the year 2019.

Courses Offered Under NEET

There are basically two courses which are offered under NEET. These are –

MBBS- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery is UG degree course which NEET candidates chose after clearing the exam. The duration of this course is 5 and ½ years (including internship)

BDS-Bachelor of Dental Surgery is again an Undergraduate Dentistry Course having a duration of 4-5 years (it may be with the internship or without internship).

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31stDecember of the year of admission.
  • The upper age criteria had been removed from last year and we expect the same for this year till the final notification comes.
  • Candidates of Indian nationality, Oversees who are Citizen of India (OCIs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for NEET UG 2019.
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and J&K are not allowed to apply under 15% but if they want to apply for NEET they need to submit an online Self Declaration which will be verified at the time of counseling and only then these candidates can take admissions in the medical colleges that comes under NEET.
  • Candidates who have passed their class 12thor its equivalent exam are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (45% for GEN-PH & 40% for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together in the 12th standard exam.
  • Reservation of seats for different categories is mentioned here-
